  Paul Bivans

Check out what drives the man behind the Trigger Gospel drumkit.

Musical Influences:
It’s kinda schizophrenic, but here goes: Doobie Brothers, John Bonham, Kirby Bivans, Little Feat, Miles Davis, Igor Stravinsky, The Beatles, Steve Gadd, Rolling Stones—to name a few!

First Record Bought:
The first records I got were Frank Zappa’s Overnight Sensation and Dark Side of the Moon. I think I was in 5th or 6th grade.

Favorite Record:
Truly impossible to answer.

What’s in your CD player right now?
Nothing. Tape player in car: Trigger Gospel sessions.

First concert attended:
Doobie Brothers at Alpine Valley, 1979 or 1980.

First band you were in:
A southern-rock band called "Double Time." I got to play my first ever club gig by lying about my age. I was 16 and (the gig) was at Haymaker’s in Prrospect Heights, IL. I’m sure we were dreadful, but it was a blast.

Your ultimate rock moment:
Being left at a truck-stop on the New Jersey turnpike by my bandmates. Ask Michael for details.

Favorite Trigger Gospel gig?
House of Blues with Johnny Cash (12/96). We were scared shitless, but—Wow!
